How to create a user through Active Directory Users and Computers in Windows Server 2012 R2

1) Open up Server Manager

2) Go to Tools in the right hand corner.

 

3) Choose Active Directory Users and Computers

4) Expand out your domain, in this example, I'll be expanding out awesomesauce.com

5) Right click on a organizational unit and choose New.


6) Then select User.

7) Fill in the user's information such as first name, last name. Implement User Logon name per companies standard. In this example I will be using Firstname.lastname (IE: Kitty.PowWow). Choose Next when completed.

8) Implement a password for the user. Make sure that the user can change their password at next logon. If it's a new hire for an individual at the company and he/she has not started working, make sure that you checkmark the "Account is disabled.". Choose Next when Complete.

9) Review the summary of creating a new user object. Click "Finished."

10) Verify user was created properly by checking the Organizational unit that individual was created in. If you have multiple domain controllers, make sure you replicate the changes to them!
