1) Go to Start

2) Choose "RUN"

3) Type in "CMD.EXE" - Make sure you run this as administrator

4) Back-up processes

1. Make a back-up of all data on the volume converting to FAT32 to NTFS

2. Run - chkdsk k: /f. This will allow you to check for drive errors and fix corruption.

5) Once back-up procedures have been implemented, implement the following command

CONVERT K: /FS:NTFS               - with k being the letter of the drive we are converting from FAT32 to NTFS.

6) After executing the convert process - it will then proccede to ask you for a volume label. Name the drive accurately to what you previously had it named.

In this example, I will be naming the volume "HELLOKITTY"

7) Allow the process to complete. After executing the conversion process it will show you a variety of information such as total disk space on the volume, volume serial number, when the volume was created, and the actual conversion process.

8) Verify that the process completed successfully.
1. Go to Start
2. Right Click on "Computer"
3. Choose "Manage"

4. On the Server Manager, open up storage, and choose "Disk Management"

5. Locate the Disk or Volume that you converted from FAT32 to NTFS

6. You can Verify that it successfully converted by right clicking on the volume and choosing properties

7. View that it converted successfully under the File System information.
